Summary 

This Luxury Land and Water Kerala Tour will start when you are met at the airport by your personal driver, and transported to visit the city of Cochin you will then explore the land of the spectacular Western Ghats Hills, before you travel west to the water element of your tour starting with a luxury houseboat cruise and finally to the sea for your 5* beach resort stay. 

Itinerary  

Day 1:  You will be met at the airport and taken to your luxury Cochin accommodation for two nights, you will then be free to explore this vibrant harbour city. 

Day 2: Take a guided tour of Cochin, visit Mattancherry Palace, the temples of Cochin or the Chinese fishing nets in the harbour and in the evening maybe take the opportunity to see the vibrant Kathakali dancers perform. 

Day 3-4: Your driver will collect you for the drive up into the Western Ghats Hills to Munnar, you will enjoy the far reaching views and visit one of the many tea plantations in the area. During your two night stay in the area you could choose to go walking, take a jeep safari or just relax in the clean fresh air. 

Day 5-6: In the morning you will be picked up for the descent to Thekkady in the foothills of the Western Ghats, you will visit the Periyar wildlife sanctuary and take the boat trip on the large inland lake where you may be lucky enough to see elephants and other wildlife drinking at the water’s edge or take a gentle trek through the stunning local scenery.  Two night’s luxury accommodation in Thekkady. 

Day 7-8: You will be collected early morning and driven to Alleppey where you will embark on your Kerala houseboat to start your two night experience of the Kerala backwaters and lakes, as you glide along in your luxury houseboat you will be catered for by the on-board staff serving your inclusive meals and refreshments.  Sit back as the scenic views slowly change and spend the nights sleeping peacefully on the gentle waters.  A memorable way to end the tour section of your trip. 

Day 8 – 14: After breakfast you will be driven east to your choice of coastal resort, and check into your luxury beach resort hotel for the remainder of your Kerala experience, here you can just indulge in the luxury, choose to have local treatments and Ayurveda massages or explore the area further. 

Day 15: You will be collected from your hotel and transported back to the airport in time for your homeward flight.

  • Cochin

    The ancient capital of Kerala and known as the Queen of the Arabian Sea, with its large natural harbour it was the hub of the Eastern spice trade.  The folk-law museum covers the fascinating history of Kerala, go and see the Chinese fishing nets at Port Kochi or Mattancherry Dutch Palace in Ernakulam built c1545. The options are many dependant on your time in Kochi. Go and watch the traditional Kathakali dancers, arrive early to see them prepare and put on their exotic make up.  It is a vibrant and historic part of Kerala’s past and a perfect start to your holiday in Kerala.

  • Munnar

    Visit the Western Ghats Mountain Hill Ranges, the upper hill region of Munnar was formally a resort for the British Raj and benefitting of cooler clean air. The hill sides are covered with working tea plantations, many that you can visit and learn about the tea making processes.  Explore Eravikulam National Park the home to the beautiful Lakkam Waterfalls.  The many hiking trails have walks suitable for both novice and experienced walkers, you can join a Jeep Safari or hire a cycle to explore the region.

  • Thekkady

    Discover Thekkady, tucked between the towering Western Ghats and the Savannah grasslands, there are many activities to be explore. Visit the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, take a boat ride on the Periyar lake and watch the wild life on the shore line, you may be lucky to catch sight of heard of elephant taking a drink at the waters edge.  Visit one of spice plantations of the area or you can take a jeep safari or join a walking tour taking in the wildlife, lush scenery, and revitalising clean air of the region.
