Beautiful Beaches of Kerala

Kerala beaches are amongst the best in India. Some of the beaches remain relatively deserted whilst others offer bustling activity. You can watch the fisherman preparing their boats and nets, relax on the beautiful beaches and take in the scenery around you, or join in the beach activities.

Kovalam Beach

The most popular and well known of Kerala’s beaches, Lighthouse beach is the main tourist beach and popular with surfers. There are open air restaurants along the promenade and it is one of the livelier beach areas. You will find nearby Samudra beach more peaceful.

Varkala Beach

Varkala beach in terms of ambience and facilities will be high on the list. Less crowded than Kovalam and with striking scenery. The beach lies at the bottom of a long stretch of cliff that’s bordered by beach, shacks and shops.

Marari Beach

Quiet Marari beach is located not far from Alleppey making it convenient for those who like to spend some time at the beach and who also want to enjoy the backwaters experience. A quieter beach with stunning scenery.

Alleppey Beach

It is one of the best beaches in Kerala, with its natural beauty it’s a perfect spot for a picnic and taking in the scenic beauty.  Alleppey beach boasts a 150 year old pier that extends out into the sea.  As Kerala is also home to the coconut,  this is a coconut tree lined beach that adds to that exotic holiday feeling.

These are just some of the beautiful, scenic beaches that Kerala has to offer.  As part of your bespoke holiday to Southern India all tours can include a beach resort.  Here’s just one example of a tour including a beach: Authentic Classical Tour.
