Monday 27 August is the last bank holiday of the year until Christmas! Rather than feel disappointed, get motivated to make it one to savour and enjoy!
The big question is… Will the warm weather last?
Straight away, most people assume it won’t. In fact, in the UK bank holidays are notorious for being grey and rainy!
However, current long range forecasts by the met office are looking quite optimistic, so we are taking their word for it and going full steam ahead to perfect our bank holiday plans.
So what will you be doing?
According to a recent online survey, here are some of the most popular ways to spend a sunny bank holiday…
Stay at home!
Believe it or not, many of us prefer to avoid potential traffic and make the most of the extra day off by staying put! Be it doing a bit of home improvement, or better still simply putting your feet up in the garden, this sounds like a great option to us. Stock up on tasty food and drink, maybe fire up the barbecue, and avoid the crowds – bliss!
Hit the beach!
Here in Kent we are spoilt for choice with beautiful beaches, and a day at the beach can be a non-costly brilliant day for the family. However, it will pay to set off early to beat the traffic and parking queues, and of course to get the prime spot on the beach.
Why not use some of your annual leave to book days either side of the bank holiday, and treat yourself to a real break. Being the end of school holidays, there are likely to be some great deals to be had for overseas travel, or last minute long weekend stays across the UK.
Get stuck in!
There are loads of events going on over the bank holiday weekend in Kent. So if you don’t fancy a quiet one, why not embrace the weekend and head to one of them. From Music on the Green in Bearsted, to the Cider festival at Brogdale, there is sure to be something to tempt you out!
Whatever you choose to do, enjoy!!
