Athirappilly Falls is one of the best places to visit in Kerala and at only 2 hours from Cochin how can you resist! If you are staying in the bustling city then this day tour is the perfect way to get away from the crowds.

This is the only location in the whole of the Western Ghats where you can catch a glimpse of the endangered hornbill. Indeed, even The International Bird Association has declared Athirappilly an “Important Bird Area” and the Asian Nature Conservation Foundation has recommended that the area should be declared a sanctuary or a national park.

This day tour is also a great choice for any wannabe trekkers who can’t quite summon up the energy for Kerala’s more strenuous excursions. You can reach top of The Athirapally Falls  with only a 15 minute walk from the falls’ entrance. So if you want wanderlust views (without exhausting yourself) then this tour is made for you! Swimming, trekking and photography – this waterfall has it all!

Cochin | Tours of Kerala

You can’t visit Kerala without seeing Cochin, from it’s photogenic chinese fishing nets to the grandiose old colonial architecture, this city is a fascinating mishmash of cultures and styles. On our half-day tour we will guide you through the winding streets of the city to some of our favourite places – all while you sit back in a luxury chauffeured vehicle.

The tour covers:

The Dutch Palace at Mattancherry, renowned for its wall murals depicting scenes from the Ramayana.

The Jewish Synagogue, located at the heart of what is locally called the “Jew Town”.

The St. Francis Church, the oldest European church in India.

The Santa Cruz Basilica, originally built in 1557 by the Portuguese.

And finally, you will have some time to explore the Chinese fishing nets – the huge cantilevered fishing nets that are believed to have been brought to Kochi by Chinese trade.

This coastal hamlet provides a fascinating glimpse of the simple and prosperous livelihood of the local villagers, and also unravels the age-old culture and heritage of Kerala.

You will have a chance to visit Kalagramam, an artist’s village, on this day tour and see the displays handicrafts and fishing equipment. Mangroves are cultivated in Kumbalangi and you can also find out more about traditional fish farming. Bait fishing is always popular with tourists!
