Discovering India

When discovering India there are so many stunning places to visit and delight in, here we have our top six places not to miss.

Taj Mahal.

The Taj Mahal is one of the seven wonders of the world and renowned for its beauty . It was built as a symbol of love by Emperor Shah Jahan for his most loved Queen. It’s located in Central India and has millions of visitors each year!

 

City Palace.

City Palace is located in Jaipur. With its white and red bricks the City Palace cannot be missed due to its vast courtyards, gardens and buildings positioned right in the centre of the Old Town.

Golden Temple.

The Golden Temple is one of the oldest places of worship in the world for Indian Sikhs. It is also one of the most welcoming places in the world for people of all race, religion or country. The entire top of the Golden Temple is gold and this adds to its beauty! It is located in Amritsar a city in northwest India.

Gateway of India.

Located in the City of Mumbai, the Gateway of India was built in 1911 to welcome King George V and Queen Mary. This has now become a historic landmark and the gateway to India.

The Somnath Temple is best known for being the first of twelve jyotirilinga shrines of Shiva. It is considered sacred because of a number of legends that are connected to it. Best known legend is when Shiva is thought to have appeared as a fiery column of light.

Houseboat cruises on the Kerala backwaters has recently been named as one of the world’s top ten journeys to make. A wonderful experience whilst discovering southern India.
