When travelling somewhere flying is usually the most popular option. There are a range of different airlines that focus on long or short haul flights. For example Ryanair known as the ‘air-bus’ is a cheap very basic way to fly and they only offer short haul flights. Whereas others such as British airways, virgin Atlantic, TUI and Singapore airlines can offer long haul too. Most airlines offer numerous different cabin class such as, economy, business class or even first class! But what’s the difference? Do you really get what you pay for? Is it worth it? Take a look and see if we can answer some of your airline questions and you decide which is the one for you!
Your cheapest option.
Most of the major airlines offer a very good service in their economy cabin, unless you are over 6ft tall they have reasonable leg room and seat comfort. Over 6ft and you should probably look into paying the extra for a seat in an exit row.
This can be a mixed bag in economy you can experienced some generally very good offerings but also some inedible options. However, there will always be something to eat, even if it is the bread roll, fruit and a yoghurt. Most long haul flights offer meals and drinks inclusive but watch out for some of the cheaper flights, they may ask you to prebook and pay for your in-flight meal.
There are some very good economy carriers out there, Singapore Airlines are currently the winners in this group, check out the airline reviews to find the best airline to get to your destination.
Can be substantially more expensive than economy.
You will have more leg room and normally a wider seat but it will still be a standard aircraft seat (with an added few inches!) You will be in a smaller cabin or at the front of the main cabin.
With most airlines you are getting the same meal as offered in economy.
This cabin is all about cost over extra space! How important is the extra legroom. The other cheaper option is to just book an extra leg room seat in the economy cabin.
The luxury of business class, the difference here between premium economy is vast. Even before you fly you will be offered dedicated check in services and fast tracked through the airport. You will be invited to the airlines lounge where you will have plentiful food and drink in comfortable and relatively peaceful surroundings. Some airlines let you bid to upgrade after you have booked, this is a great way to experience luxury at a greatly reduced cost.
Most airlines offer a flatbed seat now in their business class cabin, wide comfortable seats with blankets, pillows and massive amounts of leg room. When reclined they offer a full length bed, although this can be on the narrow side.
Normally you can pre order your main meal in advance of the flight from the in-house menu. You will be welcomed on-board with a glass of Champagne and after that snacks and drinks will be ready available during your flight. No plastic knives and folks in this cabin!
The ultimate luxury flying experience. All of the benefits that business class has to offer but with extra touches, such as, a chauffeur to the airport, full beds or even personal suites! You will receive one to one service throughout your flight experience. However, you will need deep pockets or a great expense account to discover this level of luxury. If you do get the opportunity to travel this way even once, take it!
So which Cabin Class will you go for?
